More Americans will travel this year, with the Transportation Security Administration predicting roughly 20 million air passengers the week of Thanksgiving. That would be very close to prepandemic levels, the agency said. Vaccines and booster shots have helped enable the return to normal, the TSA said.

The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will be closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 25, in observance of the national holiday. The same is true for U.S. bond and over-the-counter markets will also close. For Black Friday, November. 26, the NYSE and NasDAQ will open at 9:30 a.m. and close at 1 p.m., respectively.

Global stock markets are open on Thursday, Nov. 25. Bond and over-the-counter markets will close at 2 p.m. The average trading volume on the NYSE and Nasdaq during Thanksgiving week is less than half of a typical week, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
