Billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's Akasa Air made its debut on Sunday. First flight operating from Mumbai to Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The airline will offer 28 weekly flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The airline said it will focus on connectivity from metro to tier 2 and 3 routes. The fleet size will be raised to 18 aircraft by the end of March 2023. Over the next four years, the airline will add 54 aircraft, taking its total fleet size to 72.
