NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks continued to skid on Tuesday, wiping out roughly all of their postelection gains following new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
In early afternoon, the S&P 500 index was down 0.7%. The VIX index, also known as Wall Street's fear gauge, was up 6%.
